Three winners! One Performing with OC Symphony!

25April

One month after a flurry of competitions (four in total!) we have good news to share once more. That’s right, our LCP pianists simply do not rest.

We competed in the “Young Concerto Competition” of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) for a chance to perform in front of a live orchestra.

Such an opportunity is rare for any musician, and there was a ferocious amount of talented pianists vying for the top. The three judges included Dr. David Rentz, Dr. Stephen Pierce, and Paul Manaster, all of whom carefully scrutinized them. We crossed our fingers and hoped for the best.

The results are as follows! Three of our pianists received special recognition:

California Association of Professional Music Teachers’ Young Concerto Competition

Aldric Gozon, 1st Place in Category B for 14 and under *OC SYMPHONY CONCERT PIANIST
Hong An Hoang, 2nd Place in Category B for 14 and under
Celine Tseng, 3rd Place in Category C for 21 and under

After receiving 1st place, Aldric Gozon will be performing with the Orange County Symphony with Dr. David Rentz as the conductor. Stay tuned for more information to see him perform live!

We are so proud of these three LCP students and how much they have grown. We know we say that we are proud over and over, after each and every competition, but that’s because our students can’t stop winning.
