Dear parents and participants, we’ve made some minor changes to our schedule. Please double check your schedule as your time may be shifted. If your schedule has been moved, then your teacher will give you a new check in paper on your next lesson day. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you very much.
You probably would like to know a little about our judges. Here is our first judge’s bio:
JEAN SHACKLETON completed her undergraduate work at Azusa Pacific University and received her Master’s of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Southern California. She is full time faculty at Mid-America Christian University, Oklahoma City, where she is head of the Piano Department. She is adjunct faculty at Oklahoma City University as an accompanist and teaches an Accompanying Class focused on the choral accompanist. She is accompanist for the Canterbury Choral Society of OKC, which in the summer of 2007 sang at Carnegie Hall in New York City. She has been a choir accompanist since 5th grade at churches or for schools and universities. She has traveled to 11 countries and throughout the United States as an accompanist for choir tours. She also maintains a private studio, teaching piano and flute. She is currently finishing a hymn arrangement book of her own piano arrangements. Jean and her sister, Ruth Yerden, travel extensively to churches and colleges playing duo piano concerts. She is married to Martin Shackleton, former Worship and Arts minister at Shartel Church of God in Oklahoma City. She has three married children and 7 grandchildren.
Hello! We’ve posted the schedule for this years National Guild Audition.
All participants must check in half an hour before your scheduled time with your yellow check-in paper. Formal dress code is strictly enforced. Don’t forget to bring your music with measures numbered and titles marked.
We need volunteers to help monitor the audition. High school students are qualified and will receive community service hours. Please contact our office at 714-636-0836 for more information. Thank you.
We’re finalizing our National Guild Piano Audition 2011 schedule. The schedule will be posted tomorrow (Wednesday) night. Please check back as many of you are going to have your audition next week.
We’re pleased to announce our Judges for this year piano auditions. Ms. Jean Shackleton from Oklahoma will be judging from Tuesday, July 19th, to Thursday, July 28th. Our second judge, Ms. Joan Nassiri from Texas, will continue our schedule for Sunday, July 31, to Wednesday, August 10th, 2011.
Additionally, we have opened up the workshop sign-up form. This will be our last workshops for National Guild Audition. Please sign up today and reserve your seat!
This is the final schedule, if you’re scheduled on Wednesday July 21st and Monday August 09th, please check carefully as the time has been shifted. If you’re scheduled to perform before your next lesson, please check in half an hour earlier as we need to fill out the report cards. Formal dress code is strictly required for the audition and don’t forget to bring your music.
