LCP is Now Home to ANOTHER American Protégé!

For the fourth consecutive year, LCP made its mark at the American Protégé International Romantic Competition!

This year, we went head-to-head with contestants from the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Macedonia, Ukraine, South Korea, China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Our LCP students performed alongside other winners on December 17th at the world-famous CARNEGIE HALL in New York, celebrating their outstanding presence on a global stage!

To allow pianists around the world to participate, this competition took place on the Internet. This means the best young pianists in the world (some of them right here at the studio, of course) could upload their performance as long as they had a piano and a camera. Pretty high tech!

This competition was no walk in the park. Everyone DEFINITELY submitted their best performance. Not only that, the judges would be able to analyze each performance frame by frame!

LCP’s brave contestant really challenged herself this time. It was her debut on the international “stage,” and she performed very well! Congratulations to our very own:

Ashley Dixon, 12

3rd prize, American Protégé International Romantic Competition

Junior Category (Ages 11-14)

Playing Fantasiestucke, Op. 12, No. 2 “Aufschwung” by Schumann

Left: Ashley Dixon, American Protege winner, doing her A.R. Laidlaw impression.
Right: Scottish pianist A.R. Laidlaw, to whom Schumann dedicated Fantasiestucke!

What a great way to burst onto the scene! LCP is proud of your accomplishments, and we’re looking forward to see you on the stage again soon!
